With signing day now less than a month away, UTEP has lost its second 2015 high school verbal commitment.
Blake Munroe who is a member of Football Writers Assoc. of America first reported Hunter Thedford's commitment to UTEP and tweeted just a few minutes ago that Thedford was decommitting from UTEP.
Comanche, Tex. TE/DE Hunter Thedford has decommitted from #UTEP. Big loss (figuratively and literally) for the #Miners.

Considered one of the top TE/DE athletes in the state, both Texas and Oklahoma showed very high interest, though Munroe also tweeted that SMU has offered the 6'7 prospect from Commanche, Texas, and now Oklahoma State is showing high interest.
SMU just offered 2015 Comanche, Tx. tight end/defensive end Hunter Thedford (@hunterthedford). #OkSt could be next. Current #UTEP commit.

Looking at the UTEP depth chart for 2015, Thedford would compete right away for a spot on the edge of either line, though one would guess that location maybe the issue if SMU is his final landing spot.
2015 defensive back J.R. Hall also decommitted late in 2014, though has tweeted that UTEP is still in the mix and will take an official visit in El Paso on January 23rd.
Both kids are three stars from heavily recruited areas, and strong senior year's have seen their stock rise as signing day nears.
No denying the immediate impact both could and would bring to their respective position groups as Miners, signing day is February 4th.
