Juniel was named First Team NJCAA All-American as a return specialist this past year at Glendale Community College leading the nation in punt return yards, and returned four punts for touchdowns which also led the nation.
As a receiver, the 5'11, 180 pound Juniel caught 28 balls for 407 yards and three touchdowns at Glendale CC. Juniel had an 8 catch, 102 yard game this past season, and had punt return longs of 86, 89, and 83 all go for scores. He also housed two punts in one game coming on October 11th against Pima Community College, one came on an 83 yarder, and the other coming on an 73 yard highlight reel.
Originally from Surprise, Arizona, via Valley Vista High School, Juniel was a two star Rivals prospect and had offers from Army and NAU out of high school.
He only spent a year at Glendale CC, and was also named 2014 All-WSFL and ACCAC First Team as a returner. Juniel will have three years of eligibility at UTEP and starts school this week.
UTEP will be in dire need for receiver depth to emerge in the spring, although Juniel should immediately fight for punt return honors as that is a glaring hole in the depth chart heading into the spring.
Another big time under the radar commit no one expected to see coming that fits an immediate need. Not only can Juniel be a factor on special teams, he has the versatility to help give UTEP's offensive more diversity in the added jet sweep motions, and with his play making ability as a pass catcher.
One of best cut back vision returners you will ever see on a UTEP prospect's film gallery, his quick feet and runners IQ will easily one of best on the UTEP roster. His vision, elite video game like cutting ability, and acceleration screams productive C-USA returner immediately, what a huge steal for Sean Kugler as Juniel is the total play-making package in what he will asked to do here at UTEP.
More than his talent, and highlight ability, he fits what is needed for 2015.
UTEP gets it's fourth JUCO commitment for 2015, the Miners now have two JUCO spring enrollees at receiver.
More visits and commitments are expected this week with a number of 2015 prospects expected to take official visits this weekend.
