Christian Romine Commits to UTEP

The first 2015 commitment comes from a much needed big man.

2015 F/C Christian Romine has announced via his Twitter that he has committed to Tim Floyd and the UTEP Miners.

Romine was in El Paso over the weekend for his official visit, and made his commitment official today.

The 6'9 or otherwise listed 6'10 Romine hails from Mahomet, Illinois and was rated as high as a three-star by Rivals.

With his elite athleticism, and plenty to add on to physical frame, I could really see Romine being a physical defensive enforcer down the road of his career, adding to his raw potential as an offensive force as well, though he is a definite offensive project with HUGE upside that should help the Miners immediately after next season.

Romine went on to thank Ball State, Tulane, and Indiana State for their interest, he was also drawing interest from Tennessee and Iowa, also holding offers from a number of very respectable mid-majors around the Mid-West region of the country.

As of right now per Verbal Commits, UTEP has 10 reported offers out to 2015 center's and power forwards with 25 overall offers (I'm sure there could be more that have not reported), and with another open live recruiting period starting tomorrow you should expect more names to come about.

Per message board chatter Floyd is on his way for a recruiting trip to start the live period which will end briefly on November 9th.
