As the UTEP Football team opens up its home schedule tomorrow night in front of more than 40,000 Miner Fans in the Sun Bowl, a special scheduled guest could also be a future star on the hardwood of the Don.
2015 6'10 F/C Christian Romine is on campus for an official visit after his UTEP offer early in August.
The Mahomet, Illinois native holds offers from Tulane, Western Kentucky, and DePaul; per Verbal Commits he has also drawn interest from Iowa and Tennessee.
From the video below Romine looks to be automatic from around the bucket, with a perfect frame that has plenty of room for growth into a possible physical force down the road of his career.
With the development under Coach Floyd, his staff and the defensive minded system, Romine fits the needed mold for another physical forward and I really think he could eventually develop into something special offensively if he decides UTEP is home.
This maybe looking way too far ahead as the first practice of the 2014-15 season is now less than a month away, though it looks like any 2015 big man who signs could fight to see playing time right away in 2015-16.
His composite ratings put him anywhere from a two, to his Rivals ranking of a 3-star, a solid senior year could boost his stock, and offer list.
On my official at UTEP this weekend! Having a great time so far! #miners #UTEP— Christian Romine (@ILSTARZ20) September 6, 2014
