Junior guard Jenzel Nash will miss the entire 2014 season due to an undisclosed medical condition Head Coach Keitha Adams said today.
Here is the full text of her statement on Nash.
"We are aware of Jenzel's medical situation. She will not be playing basketball this year but there is more to college athletics than what she does on the court. It is also about her health, well-being, success in the classroom and ultimately in life."
At first break of the statement there was no indication of the specifics of her medical condition that will shut down her junior year, though Nash took to her Instagram account to announce that she is pregnant with her first child.
Nash also indicated she will return next season once her son is born.
Tough blow for the Miners on the court who were banking on Nash to be the team's leading scorer this season, a year after she was named C-USA sixth player of the year.
We send a huge congrats out to Jenzel, and wish her nothing but the best!
