UTEP Women's Basketball Releases Non-Conference Slate

New Mexico and LSU highlight this years schedule, see who else the Miners will face this fall/winter.

Head coach Keitha Adams revealed the 2014-15 non-conference portion of the upcoming season's schedule today,  breaking a 40 year tradition with no home-and-home series with NMSU.

The Miners and Aggies will actually hook up to open the schedule on Friday November 14th, but that will be the only matchup in the Women's hoops version of the Battle of I-10.

For the second straight year UTEP will travel to a tropical destination as the Miners will play in the 2014 Hardwood Tournament of Hope in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where they will face LSU, Kansas State, and Santa Clara in an order not yet to be determined.   LSU made its way to the sweet sixteen in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, and marks the first ever tilt between the Miners and the SEC member Tigers.

Home games will feature Northern Arizona (Nov. 19), Eastern New Mexico (Dec. 2), Houston Baptist (Dec. 6), 2014 NCAA Tournament team Prairie View A&M (Dec. 20) and Alcorn State (Dec. 28).

UTEP will face former C-USA rival SMU on November 16th on the road in Dallas, and they will also head up I-25 to the Pit to face New Mexico on December 14th.

Keitha Adams & Co. should expect to increase their attendance numbers after a successful run last year that saw UTEP ranked 15th nationally in total attendance, while the Miners were 27th nationally in fans per game last season.
