Field Announced for 2014 Wooden Legacy Tournament

The field has been set for the 2014 Wooden Legacy Tournament set to take place this November in Anaheim.

Today it was announced that the Miners will join Long Beach State, Princeton, San Diego, San Jose State, Washington, Western Michigan, and Xavier in the eight team Wooden Legacy Tournament set to take place November 27-30 in Anaheim, CA.

Matchups and full tournament bracket will be released at a later date that is yet to be determined.

The Wooden Legacy will be in its second year of existence after the John R. Wooden Classic and the Anaheim Classic combined to form the new tourney following the 2012 season.

UTEP head coach Tim Floyd has a bit of history with the Anaheim Classic, as do the Miners. Floyd coached his USC Trojans to the title in its inaugural year back in 2007, and a Stefon Jackon led Miners' squad participated in 2008, knocking off St. Mary's before falling to ranked Georgia Tech and Arizona State on consecutive nights.

Floyd and his staff continues the trend of putting the Miners against tough competition early in the year, as this will be the fourth time in five years UTEP has participated in a Thanksgiving tournament. They played in the Legends Classic in 2010, the Old Spice Classic in 2012, and were in the Bahamas last year for the Battle for Atlantis.
