Louisiana Tech got 20 points from Michale Kyser, and another 19 from Alex Hamilton as they advanced past the 9th seeded Charlotte 49ers 86-65 in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament.

The Bulldogs opened the game hot, jumping out to an early 11-5 lead, and would continue to put their foot on the gas for the rest of the half. A layup by Kyser with 10:50 left in the frame put the Bulldogs up 24-13, and they would extend that lead to as many as 14 before taking a 36-26 lead in the locker rooms.

Charlotte would score the first three points out of the break, cutting the deficit to just seven, but La Tech would go on an 16-5 run from there, blowing the lead and the game open to 52-36.

The 49ers wouldn't go quietly, but could never get the lead back to single digits, and would end up falling by a final score of 86-65.

The win advances the top seeded Bulldogs into the semifinals of the Conference USA tournament, where they will take on Southern Miss. That game is set to tip at 4:30 p.m. MT, and will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
