James Woodard tallied 24 points on 9-12 shooting, and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane used a strong second half performance to run away from the Tulane Green Wave for the 70-49 win.

It was a closely contested first half as after falling behind 11-2 to start the game, the Green Wave used an 11-2 run of their own to knot things up at 13 midway through the first frame. Tulsa would once again surge ahead with a 7-0 run, but Tulane would come to get within one. At the break, the Hurricane would lead 33-29.

Tulsa again used a big run to race ahead of the Wave to start the second half, this time though, there would be no comeback. The Hurricane opened the half on a 13-4 run, and would eventually go ahead by as many as 24 at 70-49 in the closing moments.

In the end, Tulsa would walk away with the 70-49 win, earning a spot in Friday's semifinal round. Woodard finished with a game high 24 points. Rashad Smith chipped in with 13, and D'Andre Wright finished with 10.

The 3rd seeded Golden Hurricane now await the winner of the (6) Old Dominion - (3) Middle Tennesse game. That semifinal contest will take place at 2:00 p.m. MT Friday, and will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
