Charlotte had four players score in double figures, and used a blazing hot shooting effort from distance in the first half to race ahead of UAB, and knock the Blazers out of the C-USA tournament with a 80-70 win.

The 49ers' Denzel Ingram got things going just five seconds in, knocking down a three that would set the tone for the rest of the first half, and the game. Three and a half minutes later, Charlotte knocked down their second of the game, and owned a 10-2 advantage.

That lead would continue to grow, as the Niners would stay hot from distance. By the 4:47 mark, Charlotte would own a 34-19 lead, and had knocked down 6-10 from deep. They would eventually take a 46-33 lead into the locker rooms.

UAB would open up the second half with a bit of intensity, scoring the first seven points of the frame to quickly cut the Niners lead to six at 46-40. Back to back turnovers, however, would lead to five straight from Charlotte, and the lead ballooned back to double digits at 51-40.

Charlotte would continue to play well offensively, and UAB could just never get things going. The 49ers would lead by as many as 23 in the second frame, and while the Blazers would come alive late to make the score a little more respectable, they would fall 80-70.

The win advances the 9th seeded 49ers into the quarterfinals of the C-USA tournament where they will take on the top seed Louisiana Tech. That game is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. MT.
