Middle Tennessee senior forward Shawn Jones has been named the Conference USA Player of the Year for the 2013-14 season, after averaging 14.5 points per game, and pulling down 8.5 rebounds a contest.
Jones lead Middle Tennessee to the third seed in the Conference USA Tournament, and a share of the regular season title.
He also becomes, the fifth player from Middle Tennessee to win a conference player of the year award, and the second in three seasons. Jones was also a first team all C-USA selection, and was named player of the week three times
Not only can he score, but Jones's defense is a huge part of his ability to be an elite player.
He leads the Blue Raiders in blocks with 61 on the year, he averaged 2.5 blocks a game in conference play, with a 15.1 point per game average in conference play as well.
Danny Manning was named coach of the year.....
