UTEP scored the first nine points of the game, had five in double figures, and held Prairie View to a 28.3 percent shooting mark to pick up their fourth victory of the season.
Freshman Lulu McKinney scored a career high 14 points, and dished out seven assists, as UTEP drilled 11 three pointers, and held a 28-2 advantage in the points of turnovers department.
The Miners lead by 41 at the 11:20 mark of the second half, and had three Miners reach career high scoring totals.
Cameasha Turner poured in 13 points, Lawna Kennedy and Daeshianna McCants reached career highs in points with Kennedy chipping in 12, and McCants adding 11.
Stacie Telles also had 11 points to along with a 8/11 showing from the free throw line, she also had a team high eight rebounds. Irene Gari was active with nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists to help the Miners snap their two game losing skid.
UTEP set season highs in points, assists, and three pointers made, while forcing 17 PV turnovers.
The Miners improve to 4-4 on the season, and will enjoy the holiday week off before regrouping to prepare for Alcorn State on December 28th.
