UTEP and Utah State have not faced off on the gridiron since the 60's.

With zero recent history, there is a lot of unknowns between both fan bases.

Here is what has been going this year, and in the past in Utah State "Aggieland".

***Before their loss to ranked Boise State, Utah State had won 15 straight games in November.

***Utah State is 13-2 in their last 15 conference road games.

***The Aggie defense has forced 29 turnovers it their last 12 games.

***Utah State has scored five defensive touchdowns this season.

***Under Matt Wells, Utah State is 1-7 when trailing after the first quarter, and 2-6 when trailing at halftime.

***Linebacker Zach Vigil has 9 sacks and 16.5 sacks in his career, he has also notched eight double digit tackling outings this year, and 19 in his Utah State career.

***His brother Nick Vigil has six double digit tackle games this year and has piled up 7.0 sacks this year, and 12.5 sacks in his career.

***Utah State went undefeated at home for the fifth time in school history this season, and have won nine straight home games.

***The Aggies had a player in 2000 named Aaron Jones who caught 10 passes for 297 yards in a game against Boise State.

***Playmaker JoJo Natson is the only player in the nation with multiple rushing, receiving, and return touchdowns.   Natson has three rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns, and two punt returns for touchdowns this season.

***Junior receiver Hunter Sharp has four 70-yard-plus touchdown receptions this season.

***Senior safety Frankie Sutera is third in school history with eight career interceptions; he has recorded seven of those this season.

***Utah State has won 17 straight games when someone rushes for over 100 yards in a game.

***Sophomore safety Devin Centers is just one of 15 FBS players with multiple defensive touchdowns this season coming off a pair of fumble returns for scores.

***Utah State had 22 players make their first career start this season, which would tie them for seventh most in the nation.   Along with that stat, the Aggies have started 23 different players on offense this season.

***Also during the Matt Wells era, Utah State is 16-1 when they score first, 18-1 with a lead heading into the fourth quarter, and 16-3 when they out gain their opponent, 17-2 when they score 20 or more points.

***Utah State's defense has not allowed 31 out of their last 41 opponents to score a touchdown in the first quarter.

***The Aggies have turned the ball over 13 times in their last 12 games,

***Utah State has lost nine starters to season ending injuries this season; QB's Craig Harrison, Darrel Garretson and Chuckie Keeton, WR's Shaan Johnson, and Brandon Swindall, LB's LT Filiaga, Tavaris McMillian, Kyler Fackrell, Alex Huerta

***They are the only team in the nation to lose nine starters to season ending injuries, and along with Vanderbilt are the only team in the country to start four different quarterbacks this season, but they are still 9-4.  #Respect

***13 players on the Utah State roster have a bachelors degree, compared to us at Miner Rush who only have one eligible bachelor on staff.

***With that gem of an info bit, ten Utah State players are married.

***20 active Utah State players have served LDS Church Missions.
