The Miner revenge tour continues this week, this time it's the Rice Owls who face off with UTEP. Both teams come into this matchup with a 6-4 record and look to add to their win column. Rice Head Coach David Bailiff weighs in on this weeks matchup with the Miners.
On UTEP controlling the clock
"We're second in the league in time of possession and I'm thinking, We're second to who?" he said. "Oh, UTEP. They are doing an amazing job."
Bailiff on UTEP program headed into this matchup.
"It's amazing. First off, they play extremely hard. Offense, defense, special teams — they really believe in what they are doing and they are making plays."
On Coach Kugler
"They are scoring points and they are getting off the field on defense. Kugler has done an amazing job."
On the UTEP offense
Offensively, they have that running back Jones who's rushed for 1100 yards already he's a great tailback and their quarterback Showers is playing really well.
Last week UTEP only threw 11 passes, they are able to establish a running game and they dont turn the ball over. So they're keeping the ball out of other people's hands and playing really good football right now. They're a much different team than last year.
