UTEP Football and Basketball Upcoming Schedule

Back to back UTEP sporting events in back to back weekends.

If you enjoyed last weeks back-to-back Miner games you will love this weekend's happenings.

It's switched this week as first we get a football game on Friday, and then Saturday night the Haskins lights turn on.

As soon as you get home from work if you still happen to have a traditional job and are one of the 9-5ers. Fox Sports 1 should be on your DVR ready to go so all you need to do is turn on your tv, open a cold one,  take a seat, kick your shoes off, and watch the battle for third place in C-USA unfold . Kickoff for (6-4) UTEP @ (6-4) Rice is scheduled for 6pm MT.

UTEP
6-4, 2nd Conference USA - West Division
Rice
6-4, 2nd Conference USA - West Division
UTEP:
Home Record: 4-1
Away Record: 2-3

Saturday at 7pm MT is the annual home and away series with the team from Las Cruces. There is no scheduled TV for the game but it will be streamed through Miner TV.

NMSU comes in with three straight NCAA tournament appearances and three wins in a row over the Miners. They will also be unveiling their new logo.

UTEP's senior trio along with the C-USA player of the week Vince Hunter will look to put an end to the mini losing streak against the Aggies.

I hope everyone is excited about this weekend as my one year old is. Every time this commercial comes on she starts jumpin up and down screaming UTEP UTEP UTEP wanting to high five me.

It truly is some exciting times for UTEP Athletics. The football team is at least two years ahead of schedule and it seems El Paso is finally accepting them. There is absolutely no reason why the 2014 seniors shouldn't have 40,000 in the stands in their final game.

Their is a ton of buzz surrounding the basketball team. We have picked up votes in the top 25, we have the schedule and team personal to make some serious noise on the national scene. Miner Rush's own Anthony shocked everyone when he picked UTEP over La Tech as the best team in C-USA. Now he is starting to look like a genius.

What are you most enthusiastic for the possible historic conclusion of the football team or the start of one of our most anticipated basketball season?
