A 2015 shooting guard out of California verbally committed to UTEP as a preferred walk on Tuesday afternoon.
MinerRush confirmed through sources that Chris White a 6'3 guard out of Lawndale High School in Lawndale, California where he has played varsity since his sophomore year will be a UTEP 2015 walk on.
Not much is known about White though he held offers from Nebraska-Omaha and Southern Utah. His team went 20-9 last year with a 9-1 mark in league play, he is also the teammate of USC commit and four star prospect Chimezie Metu at Lawndale.
ESPN rates him as a one-star prospect, and the 130th shooting guard out of California.
An ESPN scout has this to say about White:
White is one of the more effective slashers in the high school ranks for his age. He has a knack for getting to the rim and finding ways to score. He is tough to stop in the open court due to his mental fortitude and solid ball skills.
UTEP already has three scholarship commits for the class of 2015 with more possible in the coming months, and with two possible walk-on spots available for 2015, White fills one of those spots for 2015.

CTF continues loading up on guards. White is an under the radar prospect that can attack the rim and a good defender.
