UTEP Football
Wednesday the UTEP Football team held a scrimmage for the scout team members, and Bret Bloomquist from the the El Paso Times gives us a report. Interesting that red-shirting freshman quarterback Ryan Metz made some highlights at receiver. Athletic kid.
Another UTEP football story from Bloomquist gives some insight to the 2015 schedule in his notebook from Wednesday.
Its looking like UTEP will only get five home games, and open up on the road for their first three games next season with trips to Arkansas, Texas Tech and New Mexico State slated.
Another good link is the convo about this subject on Miner Illustrated, some season ticket holders aren't too pleased as UTEP will have only five home games in two out of the last three seasons
This week I posted a Q&A Session with 2015 commit J.R. Hall, here is a quick scout.com eval from a game he played last week.

The most intriguing was the talk of a C-USA opening day event at a neutral site. How does an A-10 vs C-USA opening day challenge sound?
The interview was apart of C-USA Basketball media media day, a lot of people had good things to say about UTEP.

Harper and Heard were great today at CUSA Media Days but also some pleasant surprises from UTEP's Tim Floyd and Joye Lee McNelis.

Quote of the day, UTEP's Tim Floyd said he loves media days because coaches come together and lie about how bad their teams will be.

How about a #PicksUp to Pete Gillen for the love, and the four coaches who gave UTEP some votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
UTEP Soccer
Another good read from the El Paso Times, this time Bill Knight profiles UTEP senior Taylar O'Hayre. The Miners are 9-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play host UTSA Sunday at 1:00 p.m. M.T.
They have held 13 opponents to one goal or less, Haskins defensive principles on the pitch?
