Tomlinson Named to Mackey Midseason Watchlist

Many times, his beard grabs the attention. Now, his play has grabbed the attention of the John Mackey selection committee.

UTEP senior Eric Tomlinson has been named to the John Mackey Award midseason watch list.

The 6 foot 7 tight end has 11 catches for 80 yards and a single touchdown midway through the season. His longest catch of the season went for 14 yards. More than catches, Tomlinson is key at the line of scrimmage in blocking schemes that allow the UTEP running game to flourish.
