USA TODAY Sports

While practice for the 2013-14 season begins Monday, yesterday the Miners got another commit for 2014. Oklahoma City guard Omega Harris is headed for the Sun City,  announcing the news himself on Twitter that he will commit to the Miners after an official visit this weekend.

The 6'2 170 lb Shooting guard, is rated as a 3-star recruit by most recruiting websites, while future150.com lists him as the 25th SG overall in the nation and #1 overall prospect in the state of Oklahoma.

Harris, is a very solid ball handler, he has tremendous speed with the ball in is hands, and with his great court vision and passing skills. I could really see him being the PG of the future possibly with his elite ball skills.

He was also offered by Fresno State, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa. According to the furture150.com review, he was considered one of the top prospects in Oklahoma.

Harris scored 28 points and nailed 5-three pointers in a game to clinch the Putnam City West High School a spot in the state playoffs last year as a junior. He will add depth in the guard department as the 2nd combo guard to commit to the Miners for 2014.

In other UTEP related basketball recruiting news, 4-star guard Namon Wright committed to Missouri as well on Saturday, the Miners were in the running but in the end Wright choose the Tigers and the SEC.
