Tim Floyd's old employer comes into the Don Haskins Center as UTEP resumes its non-conference slate.
The Privateeers have a 2-4 record, with losses to Boise State, LSU, and they visit Michigan State next Saturday the 28th.
The Miners will be without leading scorer McKenzie Moore, who is serving a one game lesson of suspension.
New Orleans is led by Cory Dixon, who averages 16.4 points a game, along with 7.2 rebounds, and is coming off a double-double in their last contest.
The Miners will continue in finding an identity on offense, despite not having their most effective offensive player in the line up tonight.
Tonight's game starts a string of four games in eight days heading into Christmas Day for the Miners, as they will host Northwestern State Thursday, then hit the road Saturday against Washington State, before returning to face Montana State December 23rd.
