NMSU and UTEP hook up for the 207th time in act two of the 2013-14 version of the Battle of I-10. The Aggies beat the Miners 86-73 in the first matchup at the Pan American Center.

NMSU is now 4-1 on the season while UTEP is 3-1. NMSU squeaked out a home win on Wednesday against Northern Colorado 67-63.

The Miners are coming off an encouraging 82-74 win Tuesday against Colorado State, Vince Hunter scored 11 points, and added 15 rebounds.

Rebounding is a key for both teams in this game, along with staying out of foul trouble, something that hurt UTEP in the first meeting.

The key match up to watch is Julian Washburn versus Daniel Mullings.

Mullings scored 26 on J-Wash, after Washburn held him in check in both meetings last season. Mullings named dropped Washburn in the post game presser in the Aggies earlier win, something I expect Washburn to reply with his tough hard nosed play.
