The Haskins Center will have an old school feel as old WAC mates Colorado State and UTEP hook up in some college basketball.
UTEP is coming in at 2-1 after dropping West Alabama on Sunday, and is in midst of a three game home stand before heading to the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament during Thanksgiving weekend.
Colorado State also comes in 2-1 after last beating Weber State 88-67, opening night they dominated Colorado-Colorado Springs, 99-70. Their only loss was to #15th ranked Gonzaga on the the road 93-61.
Both teams are searching their identity as Colorado State lost five starters from last year's NCAA tournament team, and UTEP has struggled with turnovers and defending against their only division one opponent this season.
Colorado State is 10th nationally in assist to-turnover ratio through their first three ball games, and forward J.J. Avila scored 30 points the win over Weber State.
Certainly the news of the week for Miners is the status of Julian Washburn, We have not heard of any updates after he refused to go back in the game against West Alabama. Though I would expect Julian to be out there tonight.
Colorado State has had UTEP's number since leaving the WAC, can the Miners put it all together tonight and start 3-0 at home for second straight year?
Here is how the Miners and Rams stack up statiscally through three games in 2013.
