UTEP Basketball: Four Star Guard Commits for 2014

Los Angeles Guard Chris Sandifer gives the Miners their fourth commitment at guard for 2014.

The UTEP basketball recruiting news for 2014 continued as we learned today via Twitter that four star Guard Chris Sandifer is headed to UTEP.  Sandifer is 6'5 180 lbs and is also listed as a four star recruit by most of the major recruiting websites.

Sandifer had originally committed to Missouri in June but re-opened his recruitment and chose UTEP, we think Bob Cantu was the deciding factor in is decision.

This leaves the Miners with four guards who are slated to arrive on campus next fall, but as we all nothing is given until we see them on the Foster and Stevens practice floor.  The Miners could possibly have eight guards on the roster next year if everyone shows up.

A scout on Rivals had this to say about the left handed guard:

"Tall wing scorer has length, a live body and range on his jumper. At times his shot selection is poor and emotions can get the best of him. With added strength and polish the tools to be a big scorer in college are there."

Rivals lists him #95 on their top 150 list for 2014, the Miners have themselves a fine scorer that will add much needed depth, if he shows up in El Paso.
