UTEP Basketball: Orange and White Scrimmage Open Comment Thread

Tim Floyd's bunch continue with their pre-season preparations with the annual Orange and White scrimmage 6 PM in the Don Haskins Center.

It what is becoming a annual tradition in the storied history of UTEP hoops, the Miner men will turn on the lights in the Haskins Center  and play two twenty minute halves of basketball after a fan friendly slam dunk contest and 3-point shootout.

Vince Hunter, Julian Washburn and Jake Flaggart will be going at it in the slam dunk contest, while C.J. Cooper, McKenzie Moore, and Jalen Ragland will shoot it out for the 3-point king of 2013-14.

Then the Miners will split the 16 man roster and scrimmage five on five in what coach Floyd described as a non "Pony Show" event, meaning the Miners will go hard and actually defend unlike the other glorfied pickup games that other teams around the nation have had.

Miner fans will get their first look at eight new players to go along with 8 returners and three starters.  Making their Miner debuts will be freshman Vince Hunter, Josh Brown, Matt Wilms, Jake Flaggart, and Darnell Vandivort, senior transfer Justin Crosgile, junior transfers Tevin Caldwell and Victor Mbachu.

Miner Nation sound off and lets talk about this season and what you like/don't like or what you think this season is going be like after your first look of the 2013-14 Miners.
