Former Miners Set to Compete in Olympic Games

Six former UTEP athletes are set to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. The games will begin on July 27th, and will run through August 12th. Included in the group of former Miners are 5 track and field athletes, and one soccer player.

The five track and field stars are Endurance Abinuwa of Nigeria, Michael Hanany of France, Churandy Martina of The Netherlands, Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria, and Oludamola Osayomi also of Nigeria. Kelly Parker, of Canada, is the former UTEP soccer player representing her country in the games.

Abinuwa will be competing in the 4x400M relay, Martina will take part in the 200M dash, and Osayomi will be a part of the 4x100M relay. Hanany will compete in the high jump, and Okagbare will take part in the long jump. Congratulations to all of these former Miners on accomplishing such a great feat of competing in the Olympic games.
