Today, the NFCA announced their All-America teams, and UTEP's Camilla Carrera was named to the first team. The senior C/UT player had already been tabbed to NFCA All Region team, and has been named the Conference USA Player of the year. The All-America honor is the first in Carrera's career. She has been named to the All-Region team three times, and has been named the C-USA Player of the Year twice.
On the season, Carrera batted .452, while cranking 32 home runs, and driving in 66 RBIs. She also slugged 1.199 for the year. Camilla's home runs and slugging percentage numbers are good for second, all time in Division 1 softball history. She also holds the C-USA records for most home runs, as well as most RBIs. Congratulations to Camilla Carrera on not only all the honors and accolades she's received over the last month, but also on an amazing career at UTEP.
