Due to changes in the Mountain West Conference, the University of New Mexico has had to drop UTEP from their 2012 football schedule. The opening has allowed UTEP to fill it in with the University of Mississippi from the SEC. The Miners will be traveling to Oxford, MS to take on the Rebels on September 8th, 2012. The non-conference schedule for that season is now made up of New Mexico St, and Wisconsin, as well as Ole Miss. One more date is still yet to be set, but that will likely be filled by a division 1-AA opponent.
