Colorado St. Rams (3-3, 1-1) @ [6] UTEP Miners (3-3, 1-2) 8:00 p.m. ET
UTEP takes on Colorado St. in a homecoming game that features two schools that have some history dating back to the days of the old WAC. The Miners come in at 3-3 overall, and 1-2 in conference. They are fresh off a demolishing of Tulane in New Orleans 44-7.
Colorado St. comes in also at 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the MWC, but have lost 2 straight at home to San Jose St. and Boise St. The most recent, against Boise, they lost 63-13. Both teams are in desperate need of this win to continue their hopes for bowl eligibility, but the Miners are more healthy, and seem to be playing at a higher level.
Also going on in Conference USA:
[8] East Carolina up @ Navy 24-14, 12:00 3rd. The Pirates are looking to right the ship on the road after a 2-4 start. Things are looking good so far.
[11] Memphis up @ [10] Tulane 14-10, half. Tulane coach Bob Toledo resigned early this week, and it seems like it may have hurt this team more than it helped. Let's remember though, Memphis was up last week at half on ECU.
[1] Houston up 21-14 vs. [7] Marshall, 12:00 2nd. I expected Marshall to hang tough early, which they did, but this pace clearly sets up for the nation's no. 1 offense.
[4] Tulsa (3-3, 2-0) @ [9] Rice (2-4, 1-2) 7:00 p.m. ET
[2] SMU (5-1, 3-0) @ [3] Southern Miss (5-1, 1-1) 8:00 p.m. ET
[12] UAB def. [5] UCF 26-24, Thursday Night
