No. 8: Speed Kills; UTEP Nabs Red Oak Wide Receiver Ishmael Harrison

MinerReport.com, UTEP's scout site, is reporting that Ishmael Harrison, a 5'10, 175 lb wide receiver out of Red Oak, TX, has committed to the Miners over an offer from TCU.  After watching some of his sophomore season highlights, it's easy to get excited about this kid.  He's fast, a stronger than average route runner, and looks like a threat to go yard every time he steps up to the plate.  Scout has him listed as the 114th best WR prospect in the nation and a 3 star prospect overall.

At Red Oak, as the highlights show, Harrison was used in the running and passing game.  Rivals reports that in 2009 he rushed the ball 35 times for 220 yards and caught 31 passes for 371 yards.  As a sophomore he averaged nearly 20 yards a catch and had 4 touchdown receptions.  Rivals also notes that his 2009 numbers may have been affected by a rash of injuries.
