Conference USA as a whole took a step backward this week in the RPI, as did many of the teams in the conference. UCF, UAB, UTEP, Tulsa, and SMU moved up in the rankings while the rest of the teams dropped back. Again, we all know that RPI doesn't really hold any water until February or so, but it'll be here before you know it, so we're keeping you updated on it. Here is where C-USA, and its teams stand in the RPI.
- Central Florida RPI - 36
- Southern Miss 45
- Memphis 55
- UAB 70
- UTEP 114
- Marshall 117
- Tulsa 131
- Rice 204
- East Carolina 219
- Houston 226
- Tulane 248
- SMU 278
Last week we had three teams in the top 50, and one in the top 25, obviously that's changed. The conference also lost ground, dropping to 11th, from 10th, in the conference RPI. The Horizon league, where defending national runner-up Butler plays, is now 10th. The season is still young, and there's still plenty of time to make moves, but non-conference time is running out, and as a conference we need to pick up all the wins we can get. We'll see how things shape up for next week.
