Unfortunately, the WAC and MWC have all the teams they need to fill up the once open slot in the New Mexico Bowl. There was a slim chance that UTEP could fill the WAC's spot and play a MWC team (possibly BYU). Earlier in the Dig I noted that the Hawaii Bowl is all but a lock for Tulsa or UCF so all roads now point to New Orleans and the R&L Carriers Bowl for the UTEP Miners.
