Over the last two days, Conference USA released its all conference teams for the 2012-13 season, and three Miners were named to those teams.
On the men's side, sophomore guard/forward Julian Washburn was the lone player named All Conference USA, garnering third team accolades. Washburn becomes the seventh Miner named all conference since joining C-USA in 2005.
On the women's side, both senior center Anete Steinberga and junior forward Kayla Thornton were named to the all conference teams. Steinberga was named to the first team, while Thornton was named to the second team for the second straight year.
Thornton becomes only the fifth Miner to garner all conference accolades in back to back years. Jareica Hughes was last the Miner to do it, being named to the all conference team four straight years from 2007-2010.
Congratulations to all these athletes in garnering these awards, and best of luck moving forward into the Conference USA tournaments.
