In just about 6 hours, the 2012 NFL draft will kickoff live from Radio City Music Hall. The first round will take place tonight beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET. The second and third rounds will be tomorrow beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET, and rounds 4-7 will take place on Saturday beginning at noon ET.
Unfortunately for us Miner fans, there aren't any Miners that are being projected as draft picks. Guys like Joe Banyard (RB), Bernard Obi (DE), Antwon Blake (CB), Vernon Frazier (RB), Travaun Nixon (CB/S), and Donovan Kemp (WR), among others, will all hope to hear their name called, but most will likely wind up looking to sign free agent contracts after the draft concludes.
Even though we likely won't see any Miners get drafted until at least Saturday, there are a few players from Conference USA to look out for. So, here's a list of the C-USA guys who may get drafted over the next few days:
| PLAYER | SCHOOL | POSITION | HEIGHT/WEIGHT | POSITION RANK | OVERALL RANK |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dontari Poe | Memphis | DT | 6'3/346lbs | 3 | 20 |
| Vinny Curry | Marshall | DE | 6'3/266lbs | 8 | 46 |
| Josh Robinson | UCF | CB | 5'10/199lbs | 7 | 61 |
| Taylor Thompson | SMU | DE | 6'6/282lbs | 14 | 127 |
| Josh Leribeus | SMU | OG | 6'3/312lbs | 12 | 167 |
| Pat Edwards | Houston | WR | 5'9/172lbs | 30 | 203 |
| Scott Solomon | Rice | DE | 6'3/262lbs | 24 | 225 |
