Here is a nice piece by Jon Wilner of the College Hotline, updating the status of the Mountain West/Conference USA merger. It seems as though the politics of such a merger is causing the talks to come to a hault, and possibly just be completely written off. Now, the two conferences may be heading in a direction of merely forming alliance for scheduling purposes, instead of completely merging both conferences in all sports.
