The pic was just too small. Obviously this isn’t much better but you can click on the image to see it full size.

That's a seriously rough schedule
I don’t follow CUSA West too closely beyond W-L records but assume you guys will win 4 or 5 games: NMSU, Tulane, Rice and possibly SMU and/or Houston. Damn near random guesses on my part.
Well I think we can chalk up losses
right off the bat are Oklahoma and Wisconsin. We’ll see how things go at Ole Miss, they might be a mess, but unless we’re ready for a strong year, we probably lose that one too. In conference we’ve got a tough road, but I don’t think Houston, USM, or Tulsa are as strong as last year.
We get Rice, Tulane, SMU, and UCF here. I can see us winning 3 of 4 there, maybe 1 or 2 on the road in conference, and 1…maybe 2 ooc. So, I’m thinking 5 wins, but 6 to 7 is possible. We return our QB, and his top target. We lose a lot (starters) from the defense, but we’ve got some solid reserves, and new players coming in that could step up right away. This team could be good, but I think “good” means 6 wins. Anything more than that would be a great success.

Excellent schedule for the fans, but for the team, they're going to get killed.
4-8, 5-7 at best.
OU must have loved their Sun Bowl trip to even consider putting us on their schedule.

It was all about the new Big 12
They had TCU on their schedule before any of this realignment, but now that TCU is in the Big 12, that game becomes a conference game. So, they needed to fill a spot, and there aren’t many people still trying to fill spots this late in the game. And, considering UTEP needed a home slot, that was the only way it would happen. No way, UTEP was going to OK, Miss, and Wis, and only playing 5 home games this year. I’m sure we’ll end up going to Oklahoma to pay them back for this, maybe twice in the next years.

Hosting Oklahoma!
Wow, that should sell tickets … I hope. I hope UTEP is ready and OU is … a little rusty. That’s a tough schedule. Go Miners.
The only bad thing about OU coming down is that EVERYONE wants to buy a ticket..
And it sucks for people who legitimately want to attend the game getting shafted because of all the amateur scalpers hogging up the seats.
This game will sell more season tickets due to the fact it’s a guaranteed OU ticket.

And if I ever find out who voted 10 wins, you're getting banned.

Here is what ESPN says about OU in its "Way Too Early Top 25"
Back to back Big 10 Champion Wisconsin is ranked 19th in this poll.

Is...
…Mike Price trying to get fired?!?! Brutal schedule…I cannot remember a schedule this brutal in a while…yikes.
haha
It kinda seems like it. You’d think a guy that down to his last chance would want a more favorable schedule.

Road Trip!!
Looks like I’ll be coming back home to watch OU play in the Sun Bowl. I haven’t been to a UTEP game in a while, what do tickets sell for $15?
by sooner&miner_fan on Feb 15, 2012 3:51 PM MST reply actions
Well what UTEP tickets sell for
and what those will sell for are two totally different things. I think you can get general admissions for like $12-$15 or something, but I would assume that game will sell out very quickly, and then its all on the scalper.

Awesome!!
That’s cheaper than my OU student tickets. Thanks

FOR EVERYONE THAT WILL BE AT OU GAME
Considering a lot of you all will be coming into town for the season opener against Oklahoma. Maybe we can all get together like we did for the C-USA tourney, and have a beer or something before the game…either set up a tailgate, or just meet at hemingway’s or something.

If anyone has ideas just let me know
via comment, or email or something. And, in the weeks and days leading up to the game, I’ll frontpage a fanshot about it. Last year we probably had about 10-12 ppl show up for a pregame beer, maybe for the OU game we can shoot for 20 ppl.

Off topic, but did anyone see the final score between UAB and SMU
47-28 Blazers in Dallas! haha, this is what the Big East is getting…this is def the nail in Doherty’s coffin.
Yikes, 8 made field goals
for 17%. Looks like SMU will be the Depaul of the south when they get to the BE. I can’t wait until SMU or Houston pulls a Saturday/Monday at nay combo of Gtown/SU/Pitt/UCONN. That should be a fun road trip.
If SMU plays like they have recently
They’ll be DePaul’s b****. 28 points in a division 1 basketball game is pathetic. If Southern Miss’ Jonathan Mills played SMU by himself last night, he would’ve lost 28-25. ha

Yeah that was pretty terrible
They had 12 points at the half! I remember when I was freshman at EPHS, we were COMPLETELY outmatched against the new school Chapin. They were rolling everyone by 20, 30, 40 points. So, considering there was no shot clock, I told coach let’s run 4 corners as long as we can, to slow the game down. It worked for about a quarter, and I wanna say we were down like 6-4 at that point. You’d think that’s what SMU was doing last night. It’s just crazy. In their last two games they’ve scored a combined 67 points. Of the other 4 teams in action last night, 3 scored more than 67.

i knw this might be wishful thinking but has anyone realized
that we have a schedule perfect for crashing the bcs party. IF we go 13-0 we go bcs.
by el javi on Feb 16, 2012 1:41 PM MST via Android app reply actions
Ok that was a joke
but, anyway…IF, and its the biggest IF you’ve seen in your life, but IF we were to go undefeated, we could possibly have a national title shot. You’re talking potentially beating the Big 12 champion, the Big 10 Champion, and if Ole Miss were to be decent a good SEC team. A 13-0 team with that schedule would have played the toughest schedule any undefeated non-major team has ever played in the BCS system.

add games against uh, smu, ucf southern miss
thats easily one of the toughest schedule in the history of utep

I know
I hear people complaining about how we’re just gonna get our asses kicked and all this other stuff, but yet when we play weak schools they complain about that. It’s a lose lose situation. Bottom line, whether this is CMP’s last year or not, he will have brought both UT and Oklahoma to play in the Sun Bowl while he was coach of the Miners. That’s pretty impressive. And like you said, maybe he knows something we don’t. Maybe he expects this team to be a lot better than most give credit for…look at Tulsa last year, they got rolled by OU, OK St, and Boise St., but then won 7 straight games, and had a chance to win the conference. This could pay huge dividends, or it could turn out to be exactly what many think it will be…an extremely rough year. Either way, I’ll be at the games, and watching or listening to any I can’t. Go Miners!!

any chance of an upset?
with the sun bowl full to capacity could utep play a perfect game n make history?
by el javi on Feb 17, 2012 12:54 AM MST via Android app reply actions
Well, one thing is a lock...
That is that the game will be a sellout, but I just can’t see the Miners opening the season on top of their game. And it would take that, along with OU having a bad day, and all balls bouncing our way. I just can’t see it happening. I just want to see the team play competitive, and stay healthy. Last thing we need is to start losing players week 1.

it's the 1st game of the season...
There’s a chance. If it’s not the first game no chance. I think no chance at Wissy…
