Miners beat SE OK St in Exhibition; Hot Shooting Tucker Injures Hand

UTEP beat Southeastern Oklahoma State in an exhibition at the DHC 70-63, but the Miner's outside threat and recent transfer, Konner Tucker may have broken his hand in the effort.

The loss of Konner Tucker could prove very costly early this season since he may be the best shooter on the team. Hopefully he returns quickly and the youngsters step up in his place. I expect Twymond Howard to get more playing time in Konner's absence.

It is difficult to assign much value to an exhibition game, but it seems to me UTEP should have put SE OK St away easier. CTF could have just been working on plays and taking a look at this young team in a game-time situation. On the other hand, UTEP could be in for another bumpy season. The upcoming game against Oral Roberts should begin to address these fears quickly.
