According to Joe Lunardi at ESPN.com, our UTEP Miners currently check in at 78th on the S-Curve. This is far from ideal, but its closer than I thought they were. If his projections are correct, this would put UTEP only about 10 teams outside of the tournament. With two games left in the regular season, and the conference tourney still ahead, we may be able to make that ground up. Of course, this is just one man's projections, but I would say he is probably not too far off. I've linked the page, but it is an IN thing at ESPN, so those of you that are not members may not be able to see it. Other teams of note include BYU at no. 3 (3rd 1 seed), UAB at no. 49 (current projected conference champ), and Memphis at no. 48 (last four in). UAB is in a tough spot according to Lunardi. Where they sit right now, they are only in because they are projected conference champs. A loss would surely drop them from these projections.
