What a slate this morning as UAB faces a tough ECU team and Memphis and USM clash at the Don. While UAB and ECU should be interesting, I think most of the attention will be on Memphis and Southern Miss. simply because USM isn't your typical C-USA #5 seed. The Eagles were a point or two away from competing for the C-USA Regular Season Championship and have the most polished offensive big man in the league, Gary Flowers. The Tigers are led by several talented freshman, including WIll Barton and Tarik Black. Memphis is up and down and the very model of inconsistency, but the Tigers never seem to have any trouble taking care of Southern Miss. At FedEx or in Hattiesburg, the Tigers just can't seem to lose to the Eagles.
El Paso is a strange place where weird things are known to happen. If Southern Miss is ever going to get past Josh Pastner's boys, wouldn't this be the natural place for it to happen? Who do you got?
