Conquest Chronicles: USC Should Re-hire Tim Floyd: Pat Haden Can Right Mike Garrett's Wrong
Looks like some USC fans over at Conquest Chronicles, SB Nations USC site, miss Tim Floyd a great deal. What a difference a couple of months makes. My message to them: You can't have him!

I'M WEEPY!.....
I read the post and the comments and am stunned! Where was this voice of support and redemption for CTF when he was literally tossed in the grease by the administration and Trojan Nation?! I’ll answer…….FREAKING NOWHERE! Now all of the sudden SoCal is “suffering hardship” and they want “their” coach back? Give me a break! Guess what Trojan Nation, I’ve got news for you……COACH TIM FLOYD IS HOME after being on loan to you for a couple of years.
Yeah, who would want to go back to those types of fans. USC = FAIL
Seriously… First they burn him publicly at the stake… and then throw what they thought was his dead corpse to the curbside.
And then they have the tamarity to call CTF “ours.” Give me a friggin’ break! That statement alone reveals their true knowledge of CTF’s career. Now that CTF is HOME, he truly is OURS!
To top things off, they now come crying to re-hire him after he shows success with UTEP, acting as if their community had never pissed on Floyd’s back.
Their Athletic Department is in shambles. They better lose the arrogant attitudes because they don’t got anything left.

I’m really quick to be defensive because of how many times UTEP (and other similar programs) gets scoffed at the National level… ever since I began following them as a boy (I’m 30 now).
It’s a hard habit to shake since it’s still happening today. But we might, just might, finally be about to turn the curve to a new media meme for UTEP.

I have been involved with USC BB since 1970 and yes Tim was a good coach at USC, but I wouldn't want him back since he couldn't even take the Spurs to a national Championship.
So good luck with your new coach, since you will need it.

Looks like they finally woke up over there and realized that they were lucky to have Floyd. That is what happens when you don’t support your coach through trying times, hopefully they have learned their lesson!

This wasn’t some petty internal political thing at USC. They burned him.
That’s something that one never forgets, and rarely forgives.
I wasn't remarking on CTF going back...
This response of “hopefully so” was based on the remark by Jake “hopefully they have learned their lesson”. I’m pretty confident that CTF doesn’t give USC a second glance regardless of what they might offer, if at all. Obviously this was a post started by the fan base and not the university. I doubt the university would even make a push for CTF. It would be a fruitless effort even if they did.
Ok, I see what you meant. Well... for USC: You reap what you sow.
Sad thing is I don’t think they have learned. I think they would just as quickly drop another CTF-type coach in a similar situation if he became a “PR” problem, even if he “technically” did nothing wrong.
