UTEP's Tim Floyd Hoping to Land USC Transfer Bryce Jones
Just a quick note here, but UTEP has requested a release from USC in order to get the wheels started in Tim Floyd's recruitment of Bryce Jones. Jones is in the early stages of the transfer process and said Kentucky and Louisville have are among the schools he's interested in. Jones is the 6'5 shooting guard that I briefly wrote about in this Dig. Like many transfers, he had a bit of a checkered career at USC. Jones was a Rivals 4 star prospect and considered the prize recruit in USC coach Kevin O'Neills recruiting class.

Well....
If anybody can keep this young man in check then it would be CTF. I wish him well, but he may be more trouble than is worth.
Definitely should proceed with caution
Floyd has known about Jones for years so I’m hoping he knows the exact level of risk involved with the considerable reward. He’s one of the best SG prospects in the nation. Here’s hoping he becomes Derrick Caracter 2.

No doubt....
I just find in a little disconcerting when I hear comments originating from a parent about their expectations for playing time. Then again I do understand if a player and/or parent is promised something then I would expect the coach to follow-through with his gurantee. Hence the reason why you should never “guarantee” a player or parent anything in order to get them to sign with your program; simply assuring them that they will recieve the playing time if they work hard and earn it.
