San Jose State Is On The Table As Latest Mountain West Addition - Mountain West Connection
Well, it looks like the MWC may be making a move for San Jose State- this move makes sense to me in that is shows that the MWC and CUSA have decided to stay away from each other's teams for expansion purposes in hopes of a shared title game or merger in some way, shape or form.

As far as C-USA and MWC
It kind of makes sense to play nice, but at the same time I just think its stupid to hold out for that AQ bid. Just my opinion. Either way, I think its pretty apparent that the MWC wants to completely end the WAC. I mean the NCAA just ruled that the WAC would keep its auto-bid to the NCAA tourney, but I don’t know what will happen if the MWC keeps tearing them apart.
I'd love to know...
What adding SJSU does for them. I don’t see any upside?! Usually adding a school can be broken down to a ‘win-win’ situation for both the school and the conference; all I see is a win for SJSU in this venture.
market size and 12th team
The market size is nice at six, but they are miles behind Cal and Stanford. Plus, I think they barely are meeting the 15k attendance requirement. If it is the only team they can get to get to 12 and get a title game then it would be worth it.
I would like Houston and SMU to join the MWC, but that is not happening and the next best option is UTEP/Utah State and if UTEP stays the only other options are Idaho, SJSU and New Mexico State and I guess SJSU makes the best sense just because of market potential.

Thanks for the update...
Still seems like a shot in the dark move by the MWC, but I suppose time will tell. I just don’t see it making a TV deal more lucrative?
