Around SBN: In Crunch Time, Spurs Don't Change Their Game

SBNations inaugural Bubble Watch was released today. UTEP, with an RPI of 72 and SOS of 137, is on the list but not in a great spot. Chris Dobbertean is worried about the strength of UTEP's remaining opponents since the Miners don't play any of the C-USA powers twice this season. UAB, Memphis, and UCF also make the post.

Exactly my point

I mentioned that in the post about our teams vying for at large bids. 5 of the 6 eastern teams are in the top 100 rpi, thus every eastern team has 9 games in conference versus the rpi top 100, where a western team only has 5. Considering utep aleady lost to uab, that only leaves them with 4. They are a long shot right now. They can’t afford to lose any more games vs good opponents, and then again they can’t afford to lose any versus weak opponents either. That kinda means they have to win out to have a good shot. No matter how they fare in conference…the c-usa tourney is el paso so we’ve got a shot to get the auto-bid.
