An interesting example of NCAA bureaucracy's triumph over common sense.

This summer, Emil Smith, a senior-to-be high school football player, committed to play for Boise State after he graduates next spring. Tragically, he and his brother both died in a car accident July 18th. NCAA rules prohibit Boise State's coaches from contacting the player's family in any way, like sending flowers, making a phone call, etc., or even attending the funeral.
