Mike Price hopes the winning returns at UTEP | al.com
Our old friend Steve Irvine of the Birmingham News has a nice Sunday feature on Mike Price. He was kind enough to ask the Rush for some thoughts on Price- primarily if we as Miner fans think Mike Price is on the hot seat.
Irvine has some nice quotes from Price, including this one;
"I want to retire on a winning note." Will this be Price's last year at UTEP or in college football as a whole? More on that this week as full posting resumes.

Does no bowl game
mean we will have a new Price at the head coach position? What are the general thoughts on what has to happen for price to stay? If not do we hire in-house or go get someone?
I think if UTEP fails to make a bowl game with TV a senior, and Buckram
That it might spell the end of the Price era. To be honest, the way he sounds, if UTEP does win he might retire anyway and go out on a high note.
I don’t see UTEP going in house. I don’t see Bob Stull going for one of Price’s sons or with Andre Patterson. I think he will look to a young, offensive minded assistant. Maybe Dana Holgorsen from Houston/Oklahoma State- someone who will continue to keep the scoreboard lighting up and fans in the stands.
Axes Up. Miner Rush - For UTEP Miners Fans
They need to figure it out
because football season is the total opposite of basketball season. The first games everyone is so pumped for and people go to the games during basketball they need to prove they are good before people acknowledge there is a team at UTEP. When the football team gets beat around by subpar Div 1 teams the fire is gone from the fans and only the hardcore folks make it to the games. I really don’t care if we put up 50 every game and lose some of those since it will be awesome to see that every weekend. Buckram for Heisman?
Without a doubt....
We need to come out of chute strong and hard. Even if we manage to lose to Houston but make put a competitive product on the field we will continue see this team and the community rally. If not, it may be difficult early on. Regardless, I don’t believe this will be an issue. I sincerely believe this year will be ours and we’ll be in contention for the C-USA West and the conference title. Mark the date and time, you heard it hear first.
