Just a few thoughts:Dwayne Polee Jr; 2010-2011 Basketball Squad

First on Dwayne Polee Jr...Polee has still yet to commit after receiving an offer from Oregon. As everyone knows he was set to commit Saturday but postponed that after getting that offer. However, something tells me that none of the schools are a true frontrunner in this race. If they were and Polee didn't like the Oregon visit then it would have been that easy to then reveal his commitment. This leads me to believe that, contrary to many published articles, UTEP still has a chance. Another clue is in the EP times story about Floyd rounding out the coaching staff. In there they stated that Floyd had said the last assistant coaching position is on hold. Why??? My thinking is Floyd still believes he is a serious contender for Polee Jr. and is saving his final assistant spot for Polee Sr. Dwayne Polee Sr. is currently the head of basketball operations at USC and rumor has it that Polee signing would be a package deal. Only time will tell, and we'll all have to wait and see.

My second thought is just how deep the 2010-2011 basketball team will be and could be if Polee were to sign. Just for fun lets say Polee signs. We're talking a starting five of Julyan Stone, Randy Culpepper, Dwayne Polee, Arnette Moultrie, and if Harris is eligible (which seems would be the case), then Rashanti Harris. Coming of the bench would then be Myron Strong, Christian Polk, Jeremy Williams, Gabriel McCulley, Isaac Gordon, Claude Britten, Wayne Portalatin, John Bohannon, and any other potential recruits we don't know about (Desmond Lee??). No matter who signs or who doesn't as of right now this is gonna be a really good team that is about 12+ deep. Polee would just be the icing on the cake. Cant wait.
