Houston Hires James Dickey
Mack Rhoades chose the former Texas Tech head coach to take over at Houston. The real news, in my mind, is what happened with Billy Gillispie? Did he simply take too long to make up his mind?

Alright
It will be interesting to see if Randall Dickey goes to coach with his brother, I would imagine he would. I feel bad for the guy because he really was a great coach and a lot of people threw him under the bus. Unfortunately for him I think people were so hyped up about Tim Floyd being a candidate that they really didn’t create a kind image. I think he could be a great asset here as an assistant but I just don’t see it happening. :(
Interesting hire for Houston
Sounds like a good bet that Coach Dickey will follow his brother to Houston. I hope Coach Floyd keeps him on the staff, but I will wish Randall the best if he decides to join the Cougars. He knows conference USA and will be a great asset to his brother.
It will be interesting to see what kind of staff Coach Floyd can assemble here at UTEP. Of his former USC assistants, Phil Johnson is most likely to join Floyd. The other assistants currently have jobs. Gib Arnold was recently name the head coach at Hawaii and Bob Cantu was retained by Kevin O’Neil at USC.

I wonder if this means
Billy Clyde is headed to DePaul? I really dont care either way, I am so excited about TF coming back to UTEP. Stull really outfoxed his old protege on this one. Nice job by the Miner administration.
I just heard that Theus is interviewing at DePaul
Gillispie apparently wanted to stay in Texas, but he’s 0/2 now. He might have to sit out another season, but it seems odd, that he didn’t take the Houston job. The Chronicle reported that Mack Rhoades was waiting on him, trying to give him time. Maybe, he wants something higher profile? He’s not going to get anything better than Houston any time soon.

You mean Billy
Isn’t a finalist for Sam Houston State or did they already make a hire?
