Here is Tim Floyd's post game interview after the Miners beat NMSU last night. I was writing up a brief recap and then I read Duke Keith's take which honestly gets it done. Duke rightfully credits Julyan Stone for a strong defensive effort and points out that UTEP lived by the 3 Pointer. Can Christian Polk do what he did last night every game? Probably not, but its nice to see that he has that kind of game in him. Also, note that John Bohannon broke his nose in the first half. He should be fitted with a mask before Georgia Tech.

Love the comment on Julyan
where Floyd says " The guy, literally, is as good a defender as I’ve coached." pretty high praise. If Julyan could improve his shooting, there is no doubt in my mind that he is one of the better all around PG’s in the country.

Claude is our only real offensive threat in the post position. But, of course, his time is always limited to short periods. Portalatin has very little to show for his play on the stats sheets, but has come in and given us a lot of defensive help in the paint.

Pick's up for Bohannon....
I sure like what I hear about the kids heart. This is the antithesis of the Barbee era and reflects the epitome of the Haskins/Floyd mentality that Miner Nation has come to expect out of their players and teams. In my opinion, that’s what I’ve begun to sense about the general attitude and mentality of this unit. Hard working, without any expectations of recieving anything unless they earn it. Glad to hear that he’s doing OK.
