Egg Laid: UAB Dominates UTEP 21-6 Postgame Venting Thread
That was ugly. Trevor Vittatoe didn't show up. The defense was worn down and undressed in the second half. The UTEP Miners showed today that they still have a ways to go. Full analysis comes later tonight.
For now, here is your postmortem venting thread.

Axes Up. Miner Rush - For UTEP Miners Fans
i feel like
the team might have gotten a lil 2 confident n came into the game expecting an easy W against a 1 win team.
I feel knumb....
I just read the entire thread and the only thing that stuck out in my mind, were penalties, interceptions, lazy snaps, no desire and defense getting tired in the last quarter. Did we sustain any drives to give our defense some rest? Sounds like we had several red-zone opportunities and failed to capitalize…again! What am I missing?
No. Not in the second half- we completely abandoned the run and went pass first.
TV was just off the whole second half, we were stuck in neutral.

According to the stats...
It looks like we had no commitment to the run either. 4 of 13 on 3rd down coversions….were we always in 3rd and long? TV only throws for 156 yards…were there many dropped passes? AGAIN, WTF Happened out there tonight?! I feel ill. How was the play calling? Did the coaching staff pull another bone like they did during the Houston game? There is no way UAB is a better team than us….obvioulsy, they were tonight.
Working on that now- the playcalling seemed fine in the first half-
Then, in the second, there was no real innovation after the opening drive. Nobody played with any fire or sense of urgency. It was like watching last years team. Honestly, UTEP simply rolled over after UAB put together a few good drives.

Injuries
There were a number of injuries during the game, Jamar Reed, Royzel Smith, Vittatoe, Kemp, McCage. I really don’t think there was enough consistency or experience on the field for UTEP to get anything going. I know you can’t blame the whole game on injury but it was most definitely a major contribution.
